Role Overview
Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager / Contract Administrator to oversee the construction phase of three high-rise, mixed-use concrete towers in Victoria, BC. This role requires an individual with extensive construction administration experience, a deep understanding of contract documentation, and the ability to manage multiple stakeholders effectively. The position will be 80% on-site and 20% remote, ensuring seamless execution of project objectives while maintaining flexibility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Construction Administration: Provide both office and field-based contract administration functions, including processing certificates of payment, preparing change orders (COs), proposed changes (PCs), and contract documents (CDs).

  • Site Oversight: Attend site meetings, conduct field reviews, prepare site instructions, and issue field review reports to monitor construction quality and progress.

  • Project Execution: Implement projects as directed by, or in consultation with, the project team, ensuring alignment with project goals, timelines, and budgets.

  • Contract Management: Organize, direct, and manage all aspects of contract administration, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and industry best practices.

  • Stakeholder Coordination: Act as a key liaison between clients, contractors, consultants, and internal teams, ensuring smooth project execution.

  • Quality Assurance: Ensure construction meets design intent, contract documents, and building code requirements, proactively addressing issues.

  • Risk & Compliance Management: Ensure adherence to contract terms, BCBC, VBBL, and other regulatory requirements, mitigating risks effectively.

  • Cost & Schedule Management: Report to the Project Architect regularly, outlining job cost control, scheduling challenges, and progress updates.

  • Pre-Tender Review: Participate in pre-tender document reviews, ensuring construction documents are accurate and comprehensive.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 10+ years of experience in the architecture industry as an architect, project manager or technologist, with 5+ years of contract administration experience for large-scale mixed-use or high-rise projects.

  • Extensive knowledge of concrete construction, BCBC, VBBL, and local building codes.

  • Strong expertise in contract management, site coordination, and construction methodologies.

  • Experience with CCDC contracts and contract negotiation.

  • Proven ability to manage multiple project phases simultaneously while maintaining efficiency and quality.

  • Exceptional problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.

  • Knowledge of Revit and AutoCAD (drawing review purposes)
