Our client is a successful Toronto-based investment management firm that acquires and manages small – medium businesses in CDA and the USA. 
With a plan of steady growth ahead, this Firm needs to add a Manager Finance and Operations to their small dynamic team to support the growth of the organization. This role will play a crucial part of overseeing the day to day financial management and operational activities of the firm.    Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements, budgets, and forecasts including financial reports for senior leadership and investors
  • Monitor and manage day-to-day operations and financial transactions
  • Implement and maintain systems, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance with policies and to help achieve objectives
  • Manage operational processes and workflows to improve efficiency and scalability
  • Coordinate with accounting, tax, and legal service providers to ensure compliance with reporting requirements and structuring objectives
  • Provide strategic input into the firm’s long-term financial planning and operational improvements
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, tax, or a related field from a top-tier Canadian or U.S. college or university with strong academic performance
  • CA or CPA designation
  • 6+ years experience in accounting or tax at a nationally recognized accounting firm with exposure to private equity, venture capital, or investment management industries
  • Strong understanding of financial management principles, including budgeting, reporting, and cash flow management
  • Experience with accounting, legal, and tax issues in a private equity environment with proficiency in financial / accounting software
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present financial information clearly
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Thrives in a small, dynamic team environment, demonstrating flexibility and a collaborative approach to problem-solving
