Position Overview:
Our client seeks a Senior Interior Designer to manage and execute multiple high-end projects within the hospitality, retail, multi-family, and single-family residential sectors. The role involves working closely with the Creative Director on design concepts, overseeing the design process and construction administration, and leading the design team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Drive the studio’s success through outstanding design, strong client/consultant relationships, precise documentation, and effective staff mentoring.
• Develop design concepts and solutions that reflect the studio's brand with creative, concept-driven, and artistic interior designs.
• Maintain clear and consistent communication with both internal teams and external stakeholders.
• Collaborate with external teams, including architects and engineers, to ensure design integrity.
• Act as the primary contact for clients throughout the design process, keeping them informed and engaged.
• Participate in key pre-tender meetings with internal teams and clients.
• Ensure quality control by reviewing and redlining drawing packages to meet studio standards.
• Produce and manage project schedules, oversee deliverables, and handle project scope and hours.
• Review shop drawings and construction packages for accuracy and completeness.
• Conduct site visits to verify construction aligns with design documents and address any issues that arise.
• Manage contract administration, including issuing addenda and site instructions.

Qualifications:

• A minimum of 8+ years of local interior design experience.
• Degree or diploma in Interior Design from an accredited institution.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Sketch-Up, Photoshop, and InDesign.
• Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and millwork packages.
• Knowledge of the BC Building Code and VBBL.
• Experience with hospitality, retail, and residential design (single and multi-family).
• Ability to manage multiple projects with tight deadlines.
• Capable of working independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Positive attitude with keen attention to detail.
• Skilled in producing complete construction drawings and millwork packages.
• Ability to communicate design concepts through sketches and computer renderings.
• Experience in managing and mentoring junior team members.
