Our client, a well established custom construction goods manufacturer, is seeking a dynamic Continuous Improvement Specialist to take their facility to the next level! This role is responsible to manage and drive the process of continuous improvement projects across manufacturing operations, creating and implementing the CI projects and outcomes with the focus on values, missions and objectives.  The ideal candidate has excellent written and verbal communication skills and has a passion for implementing and refining continuous improvement initiatives to drive results in the plant.

The Role:
 
  • Use of lean/six sigma and 5S methodologies to identify areas of improvement in all production processes.
  • Coordination of training employees on new and existing procedures
  • Interface with Design, Product Engineering, and other business partners on the design for manufacturability, process capability, and production builds of new product or product revisions.
  • Participate with business partners and customers with a focus on building quality into all processes.
  • Develop and maintain a strong working relationship with plant and leadership team management on the development and execution of manufacturing performance metrics and establishing employee involvement programs.
  • Define and communicate performance targets for safety, quality, manufacturing throughput and delivery performance; develop baselines where required.
The Ideal Candidate:
  • Post Secondary degree in mechanical/industrial or electrical engineering or related disciplines
  • Lean/Six sigma certification and experience
  • Knowledge and experience with root cause analysis strategies 
  • Demonstrated leadership experience
  • Background in operations management, process engineering and/or quality management
  • 5+ years of demonstrated knowledge of quality programs and initiatives, SPC and process capability work
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and CAD software
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and time management skills
