Our client is a bold innovator! Demonstrating excellence in World Class Manufacturing, they are seeking a Quality Manager who wants to join a technologically advanced and progressive organization focused on delivering top quality products to the market in Woodstock, ON.  This role is responsible for the day-to-day quality system of the facility. This critical position ensures that the quality, capability and performance targets of both the product and manufacturing processes are met.  The ideal candidate not only provides excellent technical expertise but also knows how to mentor and coach the quality team to collaborate and grow their skills.

The Role:
  • Responsible to increase product quality through the continuous improvement process and work practices
  • Ensure that the quality, capability and performance targets of both the product and manufacturing processes are met
  • Maintain a competitive advantage from a quality standpoint for manufacturing processes.
  • Advise and coach the management team in interpreting policies and legislation as required
  • Understand the long term mission and objectives of the organization and ensure alignment of the quality department
  • Budget and maintain purchasing control for the quality department
  • Own and manage the capability and performance of the quality, facilities and equipment at the Ontario facilities through upgrades, continuous improvements, new installations and maintenance.
  • Contribute to long term planning by proactive planning of quality processes and equipment to ensure appropriate capability and continued competitive advantage.
  • Ensure support of long term strategic goals by constantly searching out improvement opportunities and develop and implement effective business unit tactics to achieve long term plant and corporate goals.
  • Ensure the identification and containment of all non-conforming product produced by the Canadian Facilities
  • Lead and Maintain APQP Workshops
  • Lead root cause workshops through to corrective actions implementation
  • Conduct Quality training throughout the organization as required
  • Fulfill all Health and Safety & Environmental responsibilities as identified in the Canadian HSE
  • Management Standards, OHSAS 18001, and ISO 14001 Management Systems.

The Ideal Candidate:
  • 5+ years of Quality experience ideally in a fast paced highly automated facility
  • Post Secondary education, with training in quality management systems
  • Proven experience leading and mentoring a large diverse team
  • Experience implementing and delivering quality control processes
  • Experience in driving quality improvements and leading continuous improvement initiatives in a manufacturing environment
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and a high level of integrity
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma Knowledge is required
  • Ability to multitask in a fast paced environment.
  • Familiarity with working in a unionized environment is an asset
