Our client seeks a skilled permanent Drywall Estimator to join our West GTA, ON team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in preparing drywall estimates and proposals for high-rise residential projects within the construction industry. Strong communication skills are essential for fostering positive relationships with clients, suppliers, and consultants and ensuring project success from bidding through the completion phases.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare accurate and timely cost estimates for construction projects
- Review project plans, specifications, and other documents to determine the scope of work and materials required
- Collaborate with project managers and subcontractors to gather necessary information for estimating purposes
- Analyze project requirements and develop detailed cost breakdowns, including labour, materials, and equipment
- Utilize construction estimating software, such as Plan Swift, to create comprehensive estimates
- Conduct site visits to assess project conditions and identify potential cost factors
- Identify value engineering opportunities to optimize project costs without compromising quality
- Present estimates to management and clients, explaining the basis of the estimate and any assumptions made
Skills:
- Strong negotiation skills to secure favourable pricing from suppliers and subcontractors
- Proficient in Drywall construction estimating techniques and methodologies
- Ability to interpret project plans, specifications, and other technical documents
- Knowledge of building codes, regulations, and industry standards
- Experience with construction project management processes and procedures
- Familiarity with software tools such as Plan Swift for document management and collaboration
Requirements:
MUST have 3 years of experience, specifically in Drywall estimating.
Experience in the construction field
Proficient in Excel, Word, and Planswift, Gmail, and Outlook
