Sr. Project Manager

Our client is a National Commercial & Residential builder and manufacturer. They are looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager to act as an owners representative specializing in new construction & renovations for their manufacturing facilities across the United States.

This role reports directly to the Senior Vice President and provides work from home flexibility as well in office (Elkhart) and travel across the country for key project milestones.

Role Overview: The Senior Project Manager will serve as the primary point of contact and owners' representative for new construction and renovation projects of large manufacturing warehouses. This role will involve overseeing all aspects of project management, from initial planning and budgeting to execution and delivery. The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Manage all phases of construction projects, including planning, design development, procurement, construction, contract negotiation, contractor sourcing and closeout.
  2. Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and forecasts to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.
  3. Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, and subcontractors to ensure project requirements are met and quality standards are upheld.
  4. Oversee the bidding and procurement process, including the selection of vendors and subcontractors.
  5. Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, address issues, and ensure compliance with safety regulations and project specifications.
  6. Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing regular updates and addressing any concerns or inquiries.
  7. Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including the Senior Vice President, to ensure alignment with company goals and objectives.
  8. Manage project documentation, including contracts, change orders, RFIs, and other project-related correspondence.
  9. Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize project disruptions and delays.
  10. Travel to project sites across the country to attend key milestones and meetings as necessary.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field.
  2. Minimum of 8 years of experience in project management, with a proven track record of successfully delivering large construction projects, preferably in the manufacturing warehouse sector.
  3. Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and building codes.
  4. Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively manage teams and stakeholders.
  5. Proficiency in project management software and tools, such as Primavera P6, Procore, or Microsoft Project.
  6. Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  7. Willingness to travel extensively across the country to project sites as needed.
  8. PMP or other relevant certifications are a plus.
