Our client is a national Canadian business with 140+ retail locations across Canada and growing. This NEW role will report into the Director of Financial Planning & Analysis. Working at HQ within a happy, motivated and efficient team, your role will have responsibilities that include but not limited to:
- Support the budgeting and forecasting processes
- Variance analysis reports on store performance, inventory, sales and product lines
- Provide analysis of external economic conditions and their impact on business operations (e.g., inflation, interest rates, exchange rates, etc.)
- Monitor performance metrics for the business and functional departments
- Support in implementing planning and analysis tools to enhance reporting activities
- Streamline sales and financial reports and reporting processes
- Manage the capital and fixed asset processes.
- Support month-end and year-end financial close processes
- Post secondary education in accounting or finance
- Min 3+ years of financial analysis experience within the retail industry
- Excellent communication skills - both oral and written are required
- Advanced Excel skills are a MUST
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office and ERP systems
- Detail-oriented and committed to quality and high accuracy of work
- Must love to ask the "why" questions and search for answers
