Role: Construction Site Superintendent- Buildings- Industrial, Commercial, Institutional 

Location: Whitchurch Stouffville

Job Description 

  • Projects exceeding $50M
  • 10+ years of superintendent experience
  • Institutional and commercial new build experience preferred

As Superintendent (Greater Toronto Area), reporting directly to the Director of Field Operations, you will spearhead collaboration and team leadership to ensure the timely and budget-conscious execution of high-quality projects. Managing a diverse portfolio ranging from $30 million to $100 million, you will be tasked with overseeing and coordinating construction activities across various projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and coordinate on-site trades effectively.
  • Employ a collaborative approach to oversee all construction activities on-site.
  • Ensure adherence to project specifications, schedules, and budgetary constraints.
  • Collaborate with the management team, including Project Managers and subcontractors, to maintain construction schedules and promptly address any issues that arise.
  • Cultivate positive relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, including the local community.
  • Demonstrate and enforce safety protocols on-site.
  • Develop contingency plans to mitigate risks to project schedules or budgets.
  • Regularly update project schedules, cost forecasts, and cash flow reports in coordination with Project Managers.
  • Maintain accurate field documentation, encompassing safety records, progress reports, equipment rentals, and other relevant logs.
  • Provide leadership to peers, ensuring strict adherence to company safety standards.
  • Facilitate weekly subcontractor meetings.
  • Mentor, coach, and train project personnel.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 10+ years of superintendent experience, overseeing ground up projects with expenditures exceeding $30 million.
  • Technical diploma or equivalent combination of technical training and hands-on experience.
  • Exceptional relationship-building skills, with a strong emphasis on client relations.
  • Profound understanding of all construction facets, encompassing technology, equipment, methodologies, trade agreements, regulations, engineering principles, cost management, drawings, procedures, scheduling, and safety protocols.
  • Demonstrated ability to creatively solve problems.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook; familiarity with Procore is advantageous.
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to effectively convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong aptitude for building and nurturing relationships, with a track record of integrity in interactions with clients, subcontractors, and consultants.
Compensation: $110-150K dependant on experience
