Senior Superintendent Healthcare & Life Science

Role Overview:

The Senior Superintendent is responsible for providing leadership and facilitating communication among project team members to advance the interests of both the business and clients. This role embodies the characteristics of a senior-level leader and serves as the primary person on-site for construction projects.


Responsibilities:
 
  • Implement and oversee the safety program for all subcontractors, ensuring prompt reporting and investigation of accidents/incidents, and facilitating safety inspections by external agencies.
  • Uphold quality standards across all project aspects.
  • Lead on-site safety efforts to maintain a secure job site for all stakeholders.
  • Maintain a daily log of activities and site conditions, managing the punch list and closeout process until owner/architect acceptance.
  • Collaborate with the project manager to develop and execute project schedules, ensuring adherence to proper installation methods and sequence while meeting quality standards.
  • Foster positive relationships with subcontractors and the local community to enhance business opportunities and ensure fair treatment of subcontractors.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of work orders/tickets, understand subcontractor scopes to minimize change orders, and proactively identify and address issues.
  • Organize and coordinate the site team, arrange temporary facilities/utilities, and expedite long lead items as necessary.
  • Work closely with the project manager and site operations team throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications:
 
  • Preferably holds a four-year degree from an accredited university in construction, engineering, or business, or equivalent work experience.
  • 8-10 years of experience in commercial construction, including with a commercial general contractor.
  • Experience with tenant renovations, service work, occupied spaces, weekend work, and fast-paced projects is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in building processes and best practices.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage resources effectively and meet tight deadlines.
  • Previous project lead experience is preferred.
  • Proficient in sector/project-specific software systems including Microsoft Office suite, ProCore, Adobe, BlueBeam, etc.
  • OSHA 30 Certification is desirable.
  • Physical ability to walk/stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Desired Skills:

  • Salary is between $130k-$165k BUT willing to pay more for the right candidate
