Our client, is looking for an experienced Senior Structural Steel Estimator working out of their facility in Hamilton, ON. Ideally you like to bring in New Business too!
Their work focuses on warehouses, hotels and industrial buildings across the GTA, Southern and Eastern Ontario.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Business Development is a big part of this role!
- Responsible for contacting customers regarding potential new projects and actively managing the relationship with existing customers.
- Making Sales Calls, meet with clients and introduce company to potential new customers.
Attend Pre-Tender Site Meetings
Analyze and Interpret Drawings from Blueprints, and PDF Files - Receiving Requests for Quotations and their associated structural drawings.
- Detailed review of scope of work, drawings and specifications, and all associated documentation.
- Perform quantity take-off, Addenda reviews from the provided construction drawings.
- Contact suppliers and sub-contractors for quotations as required.
- Meet with all in house departments to discuss the particulars of each project to help establish a realistic schedule and construction budget.
- Provide and maintain unit pricing for miscellaneous items and database for material and labour costing
- Compile all line items together and submit your quotation to the customer.
- Follow up on quotations submitted
- Once the project has been awarded, actively communicate with the Project Manager to track the status of the project.
- Upon Project Award, prepare job binder, and necessary documents, & drawings.
- Work with the Project Manager on extras, change orders, and back charges.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Must have 4 + years of estimating experience with structural steel and miscellaneous steel and a proven track record in Business Development
- Completion of College or University degree/diploma
- Highly motivated, proactive and willing to take new challenges
- Willing to work extended hours to meet the timelines
- Excellent planning and organizational skills for our fast-paced environment
- Strong technical skills and excellent verbal/written communication
