Aftermarket Sales Technician

TalentSphere Staffing Solutions is partnered with an industry leading manufacturer of industrial air filtration products and are searching for their Aftermarket Sales Technician. This individual would be covering an Alberta and BC based territory, with the primary work being based in Alberta.

This company has been around for over 75 years and is a global organization.

The ideal candidate would be someone with a background in providing industrial technical solutions, with sales experience, and a high mechanical aptitude.  Candidates with an Electrical, Millwright, or similar industry background who have an entrepreneurial attitude are also encouraged to apply.

This position comes with a strong base salary, and a commission plan that would put this candidate above $100,000. A service van is provided

JOB SUMMARY
 
Aftermarket sales technician, providing technical support and service to customers after the sale of products, coordinate with subcontractors for installation of products and sourcing of installation materials, preventative maintenance inspections, repairs and parts sales for existing installations.  This role requires a strong understanding of the products and applications in source capture exhaust and filtration equipment / exhaust fans and dust collectors. Problem solving skills and strong verbal and written communication skills
 
Section II:    JOB SPECIFICATIONS
(The requirements, which represent the minimum levels of education, experience, skills, knowledge, and abilities necessary to perform the essential duties/functions of this job.)
 
1.            Education required:
  Post secondary business and / or trades education – electrical, mill wright or similar is preferred  
2.            Experience required:
  Aptitude for performing service and maintenance activities in an industrial environment.
Aptitude for sales and customer service  
Relevant experience desirable
 
3.            Professional license or certification requirements:
  Valid driver’s license
Certified in:  Confined space, lock out/tag out, areal lift (boom and platform), fall harness, working at heights – desirable / will provide training for right candidate
 
4.            Specific skills, knowledge and abilities desired:
  Ability to learn industrial ventilation design and motor controls for troubleshooting of systems.
Familiarity with PLC programming, ladder logic and variable frequency drives
Mechanically and electrically inclined with the ability to perform “hands on” tasks
Ability to work in a non-structured, entrepreneurial environment.
Team oriented personality
Willingness to learn new technology and accept personal responsibility for own development and performance.
 
     
 
 
SECTION III:    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Training to be provided
(A list of the major duties and responsibilities performed by this job – listed generally in order of importance -- and the approximate percentage of time spent on each, or the frequency (daily, weekly, monthly, etc.) each is performed. Use additional sheets if necessary.)

1. Promote sales of repair parts, recommended spare parts, and preventative maintenance services. 20%
2. Learn to  Identify problems with equipment and repair when possible, or inform the responsible person within the Division so immediate corrective action may be taken.

3. Help identify and resolve problems with the manufacturing of products. 5%
4. Field work – ,  preventative maintenance, some assembly and repair as required – coordinate installations, retrofits and larger service requirements with authorized contractors  regarding industrial filtration and ventilation systems

5. . Furnish complete Service Reports, including description of work, parts used, time required, travel miles required, customer contact, and purchase order number so that paid service calls can be billed immediately. 5%
6. Support for  customer requests for emergency service when equipment is shut down, provide quotations, arrange delivery of parts 20%
7. Coordinate customer complaints with appropriate department to ensure problem is promptly and fairly resolved. 5%
8. Learn to take airflow readings and/or measurements with Nederman provided equipment to ensure system meets the engineered design requirements.  If not, must understand airflow to make the necessary adjustments to balance the system  - to be trained 5%
 
 
The position is Monday to Friday, with travel encompassing 70-80% percent of the role, covering Alberta and British Columbia
