Our client is a well established Canadian industrial parts and heavy equipment manufacturer looking to add a dependable Heavy Equipment Operator to their team. The ideal candidate comes with heavy industrial manufacturing and advanced forklift experience, enjoys working with their hands, self-motivated, attentive to detail, and takes pride in doing a good job.

The role:
  • Build and secure shipping crates for heavy equipment
  • Balancing of shafts and impellers
  • Assist welders, painters, or tradespeople on-site, assemblers, and fitters when required.
  • Clean up worksites from hazardous or obsolete material.
  • Use power and pneumatic tools and machinery (e.g. forklifts, overhead crane, pallet trucks)
  • when needed.
  • Report issues with equipment or unsafe conditions.
  • Maintains a clean, safe, and organized workspace.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Production Supervisor.
  • Be a back up for painting team as needed.
  • Be a back up Testing of products when needed.
  • Performs general shop and building maintenance tasks as required.

The Ideal Candidate:
  • Must be capable of working prolonged periods standing, sitting, squatting, and bending.
  • Lift, Push and Pull Requirements: Up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be manually dexterous.
  • A strong sense of responsibility, work ethic and commitment to being a dependable team member
  • Ability to work in non-temperature-controlled manufacturing facility.
  • Ability to work safely with various chemicals including and not limited to thinners, acetones, and xylene.
  • Strong communication skills and use of the English language, both Oral and Written.
  • OSSD High School Diploma or GED required.
  • At least 5 years of forklift experience
  • Ability to read blueprints is an asset.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work and collaborate as a team.
  • Minimum 2 years experience in a manufacturing environment with preference given to those with heavy industrial manufacturing experience.
  • Hours of operation: 8:30am to 5:00pm with OT as necessary
