Our client is a bold innovator! Demonstrating excellence in World Class Manufacturing, they are seeking an Operations Manager who is passionate about leading in their fast growing manufacturing facility in Woodstock.  This role is responsible for overall performance and operations of Woodstock facility. Overseeing team hiring, development, and direction of the management team to drive the growth of production, revenue and the quality of goods produced in the facility.  The ideal candidate has honed their communications skills in order to mentor and guild their team to be a collaborative unit that knows how to deliver quality in a safety first facility!

The Role:
  • Build and maintain relationships with suppliers, vendors, department managers to ensure the integration of strategic plans within the plant facilities.
  • Operate the facility to meet or exceed all local, Provincial and Federal regulatory requirements;
  • Responsible for refining and implementing health and safety policies.
  • Lead team to achieve annual business plan targets
  • Establish operating equipment and processes to deliver quality products to customers, on time.
  • Lead, maintain all quality standards, designations, and requirements.
  • Attract, retain and motivate a leadership team and skilled workforce to support long term stability and growth
  • Oversee and implement labour planning and production scheduling.
  • Directly responsible for WCM, Production and Maintenance teams
  • Leads production meetings and update staff on production demands, quality statistics and safety concerns.
  • Fulfill all Health and Safety & Environmental responsibilities as identified in the HSE Management Standards, OHSAS 18001, and ISystems.
The Ideal Candidate:
  • 10+ years of manufacturing experience ideally in a fast paced highly automated facility
  • Strong self-motivator with a commitment to achieving excellence
  • Post Secondary Education, with a preference for those coming from an engineering or operational background
  • Proven experience leading and mentoring a diverse team, with preference given to those with Union experience
  • Experience implementing and delivering quality control processes
  • Experience in driving productivity and ROI in a discrete manufacturing environment
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and influencing skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Strong financial aptitude with experience of managing budgets
  • LEAN manufacturing, WCM and/or production process improvement experience a must.
